18 Child Labours Rescued in Daporijo, Arunachal Pradesh
Daporijo police, Arunachal Pradesh have rescued 18 children from different locations within the township here, who were engaged as child labour/domestic helps in various garages, houses and work places.
Most of the rescued children were from Assam and they were safely handed over to their parents and guardians with police escorts.
The children were rescued during the month-long operation under Operation Smile-II conducted by Daporijo Police under close supervision of SP Taru Gusar from January one to 30.
It was revealed during interrogation that the children were brought to Daporijo as mostly as domestic helps and as helpers in garages, told the SP.
The SP appealed to the local dwellers and NGOs to extend their full cooperation to the police against child labour and trafficking.
